What Successful Bloggers on Instagram Know About Monetising You Probably Don’t
Bloggers on Instagram who make consistent money? They aren’t smarter than you. But they are doing something you probably aren’t — and no, it’s not posting more, shouting louder, or “niching down” until they disappear.
It’s something far more strategic-but-still-soulful. The kind of strategy that builds trust, income, and freedom… without chaining you to your phone or leaving you creatively dry.
Bloggers on Instagram who actually monetise focus on strategic content that leads to sales, not just likes.
They use Instagram as a visibility pathway, not a destination — and they don’t rely on the app to carry their business. Want to know what that looks like? Stick around.
Because let me guess…
You’re exhausted from trying to be everywhere all the time — with nothing to show for it but a few saves and a heart emoji or two.
You’re trying to make it look like it’s working… but it kinda feels like shouting into the void, doesn’t it?
You’re posting and tweaking and trying to “add more value”… but still wondering why no one’s buying.
Real talk: Creating content without a monetisation plan is like buying Ikea flat-pack furniture without the instructions. You think you can figure it out… but 3 hours in, you’re sitting on the floor surrounded by screws, wondering why the legs don’t fit.
So in this blog, I’m going to show you what successful bloggers on Instagram are doing differently — in a way that’s low-pressure, sustainable, and aligned with the actual life you want to create (the work-from-anywhere, choose-your-hours, make-money-while-you-sleep kinda vibe).
Quick Takeaway
Let me tell you right away the 8 ways to make money on Instagram as a blogger:
Grow your email list via Instagram → Monetise through offers, content, and connection
Use Affiliate Marketing → An easy-win for bloggers on Instagram who already talk about what they love
Collaborate with brands or fellow entrepreneurs → Because blogging on Instagram gets way easier when you stop doing it alone
Sell your products or services → Because blogging on Instagram isn’t just about influence — it’s about income on your terms
Run ads on your website → A steady drip of income for bloggers on Instagram who know content is a long game
Instagram Subscriptions → Because yes, it’s a monetisation option — but no, it’s not your forever plan, my friend.
Instagram Badges → Fun money, not freedom money
Instagram Bonuses → Short-lived cash for long hours of content? File under: not your main move.
Buckle up, my friend, for plenty of examples to see in action

You started it to build something — something that pays you, frees you, and fuels the kinda life you keep dreaming about at 11:07pm when your brain won’t shut off.
And in case you’re new here — hey, I’m Isabel.
Online entrepreneur. Strategic content whisperer. And business mentor with 30 years of experience helping creatives, coaches, and digital entrepreneurs and business build magnetic, money-making businesses.
I know how it feels to give your all to content that gets zero traction.
But I also know what shifts when you finally understand how to use content like a business owner — not just because “you HAVE TO show up on social media”.
So let’s dive in, shall we?
Because this post? It will change the way you look at Instagram… and your blog.
Benefits of bloggers on Instagram
What makes Instagram actually work for bloggers now (hint: it’s not more content)
Let’s get one thing straight: Instagram still works for bloggers now — but not in the way it used to.
This isn’t about posting more.
It’s about posting smarter.
More content ≠ more money. (That’s just more burnout in a prettier outfit.)
The bloggers actually seeing traction this year? They aren’t glued to their phones 24/7 or cranking out carousels like a caffeine-fueled machine. Nope. They’re using Instagram as a strategic front porch — the place people pass by, pause, peek inside… and then follow the scent of something irresistible straight to their blog, offer, or opt-in.
They’re not yelling “Look at me!” into the void. They’re whispering, “This is for you” — and building a content trail that leads somewhere intentional.

Right here, my friend, let me tell you, exactly my strategy to give my blog maximum exposure. I used to also post on X. I’ve stopped that as it wasn’t worth my time. And one day I’ll also create YouTube videos from them (hmmm hmmm, still a plan).
Here is my approach in a nutshell in this graph for you:
You don’t need to do all this. This is today is all about blogger on Instagram. One little step at a time.
Because the real benefit of being a blogger on Instagram?
It’s not the likes. It’s not the virality. It’s not even the followers (unpopular opinion comin’ in hot).
It’s the ability to create a no-fluff-but-still-compelling brand story that builds deep trust… in a format that’s quick to consume and even quicker to connect.
Think of it like the samples at a bakery. (Stick with me.)
Instagram is where they get a taste — but your blog, your funnel, your offer? That’s where they sit down and order the whole cake.
And when you design your content with that in mind?
Boom. You’re no longer just a content creator.
You’re an online entrepreneur with purpose and strategy.
(Side note:) If you’ve been stuck in the “posting but it’s not working” zone, this is probably why. You’ve been focused on performance… instead of purpose.
So yeah, Instagram still works now.
But only when it’s working for your business — not dragging it behind like a squeaky shopping cart with one wonky wheel. (Anyone else? No? Just me?)
What are bloggers on Instagram?
Real talk? Bloggers on Instagram are just like you.
Creators with something to say, a mission to share, and a desire to turn content into connection — and then, let’s be honest, into cash.
But here’s the thing most people miss:
Being a blogger on Instagram doesn’t mean you only blog on Instagram.
It means you’re leveraging Instagram to grow your blog’s visibility, credibility, and profitability — without reinventing the content wheel or turning your life into a 24/7 highlight reel.
You’re still creating blog content (long-form, thought-led, value-packed).
But instead of crossing your fingers that SEO brings someone your way by next spring… you’re actively sharing your voice, story, and expertise where people are already scrolling.
A.k.a. Instagram.
And in these days of traffic drops due to AI, Google SEO shouldn’t be you’re only traffic strategy.
As Neil Patel puts it, “…expanding beyond traditional SEO into integrated search presence across all platforms where their customers actually look for answers. […] Brand mentions are as important as backlinks: It's not only who links to you—it's who talks about you. LLMs digest brand mentions to determine citation-worthiness…“ (Email sent on July 2nd, 2025)
Ok, I get it, this might sound a bit too expert-focused, so let's dial it back to plain simple.
Look at the example below, from @dancingtheearth Instagram account. She is a travel blogger, photographer and content creator.
I’ve laid it out in the graphic example soo you see the simplicity and impact of this blogger on Instagram (More examples to follow, my friend).
Psssst… Don’t think you need such big number of followers, I know you’re already jumping too fast on that thought. (Amirite?)
It’s not about being an “influencer.”
It’s not about morning flat lays and hashtag clouds the size of your to-do list.
It’s about showing up with smart, story-rich, trust-building micro-content that leads somewhere bigger — your long-form blog, your products, your passive income machine.
Cue the highly-converting-but-not-sleazy monetisation moment.
Think of bloggers on Instagram like this:
You’re the host of a cozy, well-designed Airbnb.
Instagram is the cute welcome mat.
Your blog? That’s the beautifully curated interior that makes people want to unpack, stay awhile, and come back for MORE.
And when you use Instagram to invite people in — with clarity, with purpose, with content that actually means something?
That’s when your blog stops collecting dust and starts making money. *swoosh*.
Seriously, if you ask me, I’ll never call myself a blogger on Instagram. But hey, I have a successful blog, Instagram presence, and traffic from there to my strategic places.

How to blog on Instagram
The silent habits that keep bloggers stuck — and how to shift them fast
Let’s pull back the curtain.
Because the how of blogging on Instagram isn’t just about what to post or how often to do it — it’s about how you think about it.
And most bloggers (yep, even the smart, driven, high-potential ones like you) are stuck in a pattern of what I call invisible momentum-killers.
Like…
Saving 237 carousel ideas but never actually posting
Editing the same caption four times because it “doesn’t sound expert enough”
Creating a high-impact Reel… and never publishing it because “it’s not aligned with the trends I see”
Telling yourself you need to “build your blog traffic first” before showing up consistently on IG
Waiting until you’ve batch-created two weeks of content… which still hasn’t happened since last March (or never)
(Amirite?)
Here’s the kicker:
Blogging on Instagram isn’t about having a perfect grid or the most creative Reels videographer or being a graphic designer in your spare time.
It’s about consistently turning your blog content into bite-sized, emotionally-relevant posts that stop the scroll and spark connection.
Truth bomb ->
Your Instagram doesn’t need a new blog every week
It needs the right posts in front of the right people regularly.
And that’s what Instagram lets you do — when you stop overthinking and start leading.
Example time? Let’s go.
Take Emma — a course creator who spent weeks writing deeply valuable blog posts that maybe 5 people were seeing.
Then she decided to turn one blog post into a 5-part carousel series, layered in a question sticker on Stories, and added a CTA that linked back to her list-building freebie.
Within 2 weeks? 21 warm leads. No dancing required.
And here you have this as a simple infographic I’ve designed for you, my friend, so you can remember it easily. And remember, adapt this for what works best for you. It isn’t a set-in-stone formula.
(Don’t forget to save it to your Pinterest!)
The pro-strategy for your best performing blog posts?
Bring them back on Instagram regularly.
That way the week you want to take a well-deserved break from creating a brand-new blog post, you CAN! Yeah!
You can repost highly engaging IG posts you have ready to reutilise and save time.
Or you can refresh some old ones with fast-to-implement updates,
Say the same, show it differently. Efficiency meets visibility.
Because the truth is… You’re not “bad at Instagram.”
You’re just not using it like the strategic content amplifier to lead generation.
But once you flip that switch?
*Whew.* Your blog will finally start doing what you built it to do — bring in the leads, clients, and freedom you’ve been hustling for.
Here is one carousel based on one of my most successful blogs, about affiliate marketing on Pinterest. Not only do I have a number of posts about it, I have it pinned to the top of my Instagram feed (I promised I’ll shared plenty of Instagram examples with you, my friend!).
How bloggers on Instagram share blog posts
The exciting thing about using Instagram to share your blog content is that you can use the platform's various features to make your content more discoverable and grow your audience.
Bloggers on Instagram use the platform to share photos, graphics and videos to link to their blog posts, using:
The Instagram Stories "link" sticker: when you share a story from your blog post on Instagram, you can use the "link" sticker to add a link to your story. The drawback of this method is that your link will only be visible for 24h.
Instagram highlights: You can choose to add your Instagram Story with the link to your latest blog to your Instagram highlights so that it remains accessible through your Instagram account.
The Instagram bio: you can include a link here. You have various approaches to maximise the potential of the Instagram bio:
Option 1 - Link to your blog: If you want to keep it simple and quick, you can decide to link in the Instagram bio to your blog menu page. Once someone lands there, they can see all your blogs. You could also link to your latest blog and change the link every time you publish a new blog.
Option 2 - Use Tailwind or Linktree for multiple links: Alternatively, you can use one of these services to create a page with multiple links. This way, you enter the link to this page on the Instagram bio. When people land on it, the page offers links to various important pages you have decided to include (your latest blog, website, online shop, offer, or freebie, for instance).
Option 3 - Create your own page with multiple links: You can create your own website page (instead of Tailwind or Linktree) and benefit from complete creative freedom on how it looks, as I have done on my website. Check it out here. You can read my blog to know how to achieve this here: Smart Instagram Bio Ideas To Grow For Free Your Website Traffic & Social Media Game. Check it out here.
Post and use an automation in your caption - Create an automation with Manychat for your audience to comment (or DM you) a word, “BLOG” for instance, and you then DM them the link to the blog. You’ve seen this a million time now.
Here is an example of Instagram automation from my Instagram feed:
Let me be super honest: none of these methods is ideal for making your blogs discoverable on Instagram.
And that's because Instagram isn't a content search engine like Pinterest, Google or YouTube.
That's precisely why, later in this blog, I will share how I boost my blog reach for years organically (no ads involved!).
How do bloggers on Instagram grow?
How successful bloggers grow with intention (not hacks or Reels that go nowhere)
Let’s be honest for a sec: growth in 2025 isn’t about chasing the latest viral trend or cranking out Reels with “maybe this’ll hit?” energy.
Because spoiler: growth without direction is just noise.
More likes? Cool.
More views? Cute.
But if none of it’s tied to your blog, your list, your offer, or your long-game strategy — then congrats, you’re building a content hamster wheel with no exit ramp. (The algorithm is thrilled. Your business? Not so much.)
Successful bloggers on Instagram? They’re not just posting for eyeballs.
They’re posting with intention — as in, every single post has a job.
It leads.
It invites.
It builds authority.
It triggers curiosity.
It gives micro-wins that point toward bigger transformation.
It’s not “content for content’s sake.” It’s breadcrumb content.
Every story, carousel, and caption nudging your audience deeper into your world — until clicking to your blog or downloading your freebie feels like their idea.
And here’s what no one talks about ➜
Growth comes from clarity, not hacks.
When your audience sees you as the go-to voice for a specific transformation, your content doesn’t have to scream.
It speaks directly to the right people — and they lean in.
Quick story ➜
Because here’s the real growth formula:
Less chaos. More clarity. Content with direction. Results that compound.
Forget growth for the algorithm.
We’re here for growth that actually means something.
And here’s something the no-sleep-content-churn culture won’t tell you:
Instagram isn’t your final destination.
It’s your jumping off point.
Smart bloggers on Instagram aren’t just creating content.
They’re building a soft launchpad that points people OFF the platform — toward their blog, their offer, their affiliate links, their email list, their world.
(That’s where the real trust and transactions happen — not in disappearing stories or dopamine-scroll loops.)
Because let’s be real, my friend — if all your energy is going into making your Instagram look good, but it’s not leading anyone to your site, your blog, or your services?
You’re not running a business.
You’re managing a museum.
(Pretty? Sure. Profitable? Not so much.)
Now — let me show you what this looks like in action…
Here’s an example from a blogger on Instagram who’s doing this beautifully: they’re turning everyday posts into traffic touchpoints and revenue-ready trust.
👇 (Screenshots + breakdown coming up later)
And I know what you’re thinking →
“But wait, doesn’t Instagram help me get found?”
Yes — but it’s NOT the best traffic driver. Not by a long shot.
And if you’re banking on Instagram alone to grow your biz, you might be quietly sabotaging your bigger goals.
Unpopular opinion? Maybe.
Strategically accurate? 100%.
You need that bonus tip at the end of this post. (Don’t skip it — it is the strategy shift that unlocks way more traffic with way less hustle.)

So what is the key for bloggers on Instagram to grow?
Growth for bloggers on Instagram isn't any different to any other niche. There isn't one magic hack.
It's the combination of a well-thought-through content strategy that will make the real difference.
Get ready to grow your Instagram account!
Here are a few top tips:
Have a plan for making money. That’s why you reading this blog!
Understand your audience deeply (deep desires, frustrations, missteps, bad habits, day-to-day realities, small milestones) and talk to these points.
Tell your story in the context of how it relates to your audience's ambitions and dreams.
BE YOU. Have your own voice, opinions, and style. Repeating what others say doesn't make you stand out.
Remember it’s about your audience (not you).
Connect with your audience meaningfully. Don't reply to comments with emojis. Talk to them with personal thoughts.
Don't try to make it too perfect. Imperfection is much easier to connect with, and content becomes easier to create.
Collaborate with other accounts to reach new audiences.
Keep it fresh and create incentives for your audience (freebies, challenges, Instagram giveaways...).
Be patient. Growing on Instagram takes time, whether you're a blogger on Instagram, an influencer on Instagram or an entrepreneur on Instagram. So don't expect overnight results.
Here is a must-save-to-Pinterest infographic summarising it all for you:

Bloggers on Instagram strategies to make money
There are several ways bloggers on Instagram can make money, and you can too!
Let's take a look at each of these in a bit more detail. But before, let’s get one thing straight.
And here is another infographic for you, to make it easier to remember:
The next sections are your bloggers on Instagram “menu” to make money online
You don’t have to do it all.
But once you know your options, you’ll be able to build the right mix for your business — one that brings in income and keeps your audience engaged, without burning you out.
These monetisation options are listed in order — from the most strategically important to nice-to-do.
Some are easy, and low-effort entry points, some go all the way to scalable strategies that give you more ownership (and profit).
Think of it as your monetisation ladder, my friend. You don’t need to climb to the top today.
Just take the next step that fits your energy, audience size, and goals.
And remember: there’s no one-size-fits-all here — blogging on Instagram looks different for each blogger. I’ll show you real-life examples and screenshots from successful bloggers on Instagram so you can see how they do it without selling out or burning out.
Buckle up, my friend. Let’s break this down one smart (and doable) strategy at a time.
1. Grow your email list via Instagram → Monetise through offers, content, and connection
The #1 thing successful bloggers on Instagram do differently
Let me tell you a not-so-fun truth most aspiring influencers on IG completely MISS:
If you’re not sending your followers off Instagram and onto your email list, you’re building your business on rented land.
Like… beautiful, well-lit, aesthetic rented land with trending audio — but still. It isn’t yours.
And if the algorithm changes (again), your account gets hacked (wheeze), Instagram decides to suspend your account for some reason (yes, it happens and then try to speak to someone to get it reinstated… no chance) or your visibility tanks overnight (file under: Tuesday morning chaos)… so does your revenue. 😬
That’s why growing your email list is the most powerful move for bloggers on Instagram who actually want to make money long-term. (Too long to put in bold? Well, this is the ONE thing to take from this blog that changes ALL).
Because your list? That’s your space.
You’ve heard it a million times and it’s still true for bloggers on Instagram. But somehow the consistency rush seems to overtake it all when you think about your IG growth.
No algorithm. No 24-hour expiry window. No competing for attention between dog memes and dance reels.
It’s just you, your audience, and the chance to turn warm Instagram followers into loyal blog readers, buyers, subscribers, and humans who stick around for the long game.
What does this look like in real life?
📸 Here is another example of an Instagram blogger, Anna @nospaceinmypassport, who uses her Instagram bio links to send traffic to her website, with her freebies, her products and affiliate marketing links— her blog is monetising beyond likes and loops.
Because if you’re only linking your latest post and not your list builder? That’s money walking away, my friend.
And you can still build you email without a website. Yeah!
Look at how @hotgirlenhancements does it very simply in the example below:
This is where Instagram blogging gets real: you aren’t just “posting content” — you’re creating a content ecosystem that points people to your blog, your list, and your offers.
And that?
That’s where freedom begins.
2. Use Affiliate Marketing
An easy-win for bloggers on Instagram who already talk about what they love
Truth bomb: You’re probably already doing affiliate marketing… you’re just not getting paid for it.
Every time you recommend that one time-saving tool, your go-to face oil, your fave podcast mic, or the scheduling app that keeps your brain from melting — that’s an affiliate opportunity in disguise.
And for bloggers on Instagram?
It’s the perfect way to turn everyday content into a low-effort, long-tail income stream.
Here’s how it works:
Once you’ve signed up for the affiliate programme, they give you a unique link. You drop it in your bio, Story, or blog. Every time someone clicks and buys?
You earn a small commission.
Small but mighty, my friend.
Especially when you’re building up your blog and email list alongside it.
It’s also how bloggers and influencers on Instagram start to build what I call a “trust bridge” — you’re not selling, you’re helping.
You’re not pushing products, you’re curating shortcuts.
And when you do that consistently?
That “how does she even make money from blogging on Instagram?” question disappears fast.
📸 Here’s an example of affiliate marketing strategy from Instagram by Jessica @anindigoday, a style and beauty blogger (You don’t need to do such a comprehensive affiliate approach and simply add 1-2 key link in the bio.)
The best part? You don’t need a huge audience.
You just need the right audience — the kind who trust your taste and want your recommendations because they don’t have time to research it all themselves. (Flashback to that “what do I even post that makes money” moment… this is it, friend.)
This works especially well when you’ve already built up trust through Instagram blogging — so when you mention a product or tool you genuinely use, it doesn’t feel “salesy.” It feels helpful. Aligned. Like a friend sharing a shortcut.
I can’t resist it. Here come more pro-tips for you, my friend:
Oh — and let me say this louder for the people in the back: You don’t need a huge following to make affiliate income work.
You need alignment, consistency, and a warm audience that trusts you.
And if your inner voice is whispering, “but I’m too small for this to work” — go ahead and tell her: Skepticism has left the chat.
3. Collaborate with brands or fellow entrepreneurs
Because blogging on Instagram gets way easier when you stop doing it alone
Let’s address the neon pink elephant in the Instagram room:
You don’t need a million followers to land brand deals or collabs.
You need a clear voice, a valuable audience — and the guts to actually pitch yourself.
And I know what you might be thinking…
“But I’m not an influencer influencer.”
“I don’t have a media kit.”
“I’m not sure anyone would want to collaborate with me.”
“I’m just starting out and know no one.”
*Wheeeze.*
Let’s shut that story down right here.
Because now, brands aren’t just chasing vanity metrics.
They’re looking for micro creators with niche audiences who can drive real trust, clicks, and conversions. And bloggers on Instagram — especially those who ALSO have a blog, an email list, or a warm community? You’re a dream partner.
And collaborations aren’t just about traditional sponsorships, either.
📸 Here’s a screenshot of me with Paige Brunton @paigebrunton on an Instagram live. That was a collab to promote her launch and bring value to my audience to discover impactful ways to make money online.
You’re building income that doesn’t depend on reels performing or hashtags trending.
Ah, my friend, also stop waiting for brands to DM you.
Be strategic for brand collabs. The take time and effort, so be intentional and selective.
Because if you wait until you feel “ready,” you’ll stay invisible.
(Side note: Your blog and list? Massive credibility boosters in a pitch. Use them.)
4. Sell your products or services
Because blogging on Instagram isn’t just about influence — it’s about income on your terms
Here’s what most aspiring influencers on IG don’t tell you:
Posting consistently is cute… but it doesn’t pay your bills.
Selling your own offer? Now that’s the move.
And no, you don’t need a huge team or a six-figure funnel to do it.
You just need something valuable your audience needs — and the guts to talk about it more than once every 3 months (ahem).
Whether it’s your web design magic, your one-on-one coaching, your copywriting whisper, your downloadable travel guide, your done-for-you digital templates, your signature online course, a group coaching program, or a VIP intensive — your offer gives you leverage. It gives your content a purpose.
And it gives your audience an actual next step beyond just “save this post” or “double tap.”
Because real talk?
Blogging on Instagram works best when your content leads somewhere — and that somewhere is your own product or service.
📸 Here’s a screenshot from my fav course creator, Louise Henry @louisehenry. In her feed is where she intentionally promotes Asana to warm up her audience to her online course, Uplevel With Asana course, which BTW has transformed the way I operated my online business (and life!) and makes me feel in control of my time.
Every few posts in a carousel or a Reel, she leads people to a lead magnet to nurture them via email. She doesn’t even “sell” hard… but her monthly Stripe payouts say otherwise. A multi-six figures entrepreneur!
No complicated launch needed — just consistent visibility.
And here’s your belief shift for the day: You’re not bothering people by talking about what you sell.
You’re inviting them into a transformation.
You’re not “too small” to launch.
You’re just one clear offer away from unlocking the kind of income that doesn’t depend on brand deals or the algorithm showing you love.
So next time you hear yourself say, “But I don’t want to sound salesy…”
Remember: Sleazy sales tactics has left the chat.
5. Run ads on your website
A steady drip of income for bloggers on Instagram who know content is a long game
Here’s the truth no one’s glamorising on Reels: Blogging on Instagram is a hustle.
But blogging beyond Instagram?
That’s where the real magic — and money — starts.
If you’re already putting energy into content, repurposing it into Instagram posts, bringing traffic back from there to your blog, one of the smart things you can do is display ads on your website. Why?
Because your blog posts can host display ads (from networks like Mediavine or Raptive) that pay you passively for every view or click they get.
And while ads won’t replace your signature offer, they can absolutely stack up to hundreds (even thousands) per month when you grow your blog traffic.
Passive-ish income while your content keeps working for you? Yes please.
But let me be real with you, my friend — this isn’t a fast-track, get-rich-by-Thursday kind of strategy.
It’s for bloggers playing the long game.
The ones who know that their blog is a business asset, not just a side hobby.
The ones who are tired of pouring content into a feed that disappears in 48 hours — and want a revenue source that keeps on giving.
File under: Smarter. Not busier.
📸 Here’s a screenshot example from a mindset blogger, @risenshinemindsetwithadri, who promotes her blog in her Istagram Stories and Highlights to bring traffic to her blog, where she has ads to make money from ads traffic.
That’s how you get your Instagram content working 10x harder — and building blog traffic that actually pays.
Because if you’re already doing the content work?
You deserve to get paid for it beyond the double taps.
6. Instagram Subscriptions
Because yes, it’s a monetisation option — but no, it’s not your forever plan, my friend.
Let’s keep it real: Instagram Subscriptions can be a clever way for bloggers on Instagram to earn recurring income from superfans — think: exclusive stories, behind-the-scenes content, early access to launches.
But (deep breath) you’re building a business, not babysitting an algorithm.
When your revenue lives inside Instagram, you’re at the mercy of the platform. One account suspension, one shady hack, or one “oops we changed the rules again” — and poof. Your income vanishes.
Not ideal, right?
Still, if you’ve got a warm audience who’s super engaged and asking for more, subscriptions can be a low-effort add-on.
Just know this: it’s rented space.
Your real empire? That lives on your blog, your list, your own offers.
📸 Here’s a screenshot from various bloggers and Instagramers who offer Instagram subscriptions: @soohyunlees, @sharwari_gujar, @_elizabethbagdon. I’ve included different niches so that you see different sizes of accounts (no, you don’t need hundreds of thousands of followers).
Pssst… Speaking of risky revenue streams — up next: Badges.
(And why getting tips during Lives won’t cut it as a business model.)
You’ll want to read it before you bet the house on your next Live.
7. Instagram Badges
Fun money, not freedom money
If you’re going live on Instagram and your audience loves showing love, Instagram Badges let followers tip you in real time — like a virtual applause button with dollar signs.
Cute? Yes.
Consistent, scalable income? Not even close.
This feature’s nice for creators who already go Live regularly, but unless your name’s trending weekly or you’ve got major engagement, this won’t move the financial needle.
(Unless the plan is to go live 3x a week forever… and wheeze—just no.)
👉 Still with me? Good — because Bonuses are next. And they’re even trickier…
8. Instagram Bonuses
Short-lived cash for long hours of content? File under: not your main move.
Instagram Bonuses (like getting paid for Reels views) sound tempting. Create content → get paid.
But here’s the fine print, my friend: it’s invitation-only, inconsistent, and… can disappear as fast as it came.
You don’t control the terms. And it requires volumes — not just quality — which means even more time creating for an audience you don’t own.
If it’s available to you? Sure, use it. But don’t mistake this for a business strategy.
It’s a cherry on top — not the whole sundae.
🚨 And speaking of breadcrumbs — are you really putting all this effort into Instagram… without traffic that lasts?
Don’t miss the bonus tip section where I share the platform that actually brings long-term, scalable traffic to your blog — and income beyond your wildest Reels reach.
Trust me, my friend. You’ll wanna see this.
What are the best ways for bloggers on Instagram to make money?
There are different ways bloggers on Instagram can make money as you’ve seen.
As a blogger on Instagram, you can promote affiliate products, sell your products and services, collaborate with brands, run ads on your website, set up Instagram Subscriptions, and much more.
The best way to make money on Instagram is to create high-quality, engaging content relevant to your niche and that your audience will be interested in.
You don't need to choose one unique way to make money online. You don't need to invent something totally new. In fact, there are two fundamental realities of making money online as a blogger on Instagram:
It's totally ok that others sell similar products or services to yours. Selling and inventing are two different things. You don't need to invent something new to sell. What will make someone buy from you, not someone else, is you!
Most entrepreneurs make money online with multiple revenue streams, not just one. What's essential is to build your audience, start with one revenue stream and then expand from there.
Once you start, you'll learn. You'll understand what works best. You'll see new opportunities. You'll optimise. You might even pivot to something different later on.
Everything can happen when you start. YOU CAN!
FAQ about blogging on Instagram
Do bloggers on Instagram get paid?
Yup — but not always how you think.
Bloggers on Instagram can earn directly with things like Subscriptions, Bonuses and Badges (scroll up for the full tea).
But the real money? It most often happens OFF the app — through affiliate links, sponsored posts, running ads on their blog, or selling your products or services.
Instagram’s just an invitation — your website is the party.
Where should I link from Instagram?
Simple!
Your website (and blog)
Your freebie sign-up form
Your products or services (if they aren’t on your website)
Your affiliate links
Your collabs (temporary)
Pinterest
YouTube
Do NOT link to other social media platforms like Tiktok, Facebook, LinkedIn…
You want to bring your audience first of all to your places (your website (and blog), your freebie sign-up form, your products or services), your affiliates or, if you have none of this, a content search engine like Pinterest or YouTube).
More about Pinterest and why you shouldn’t miss it later in the bonus tip.
How much do bloggers on Instagram make?
It depends — and here’s the truth bomb: most small-to-mid bloggers on Instagram don’t make much directly from the platform. Unless you’ve got a mega audience, Bonuses and Subscriptions won’t pay the bills.
The real income? That happens OUTSIDE the app — through affiliate marketing, blog ads, or selling offers to an email list you actually own.
And that’s the key: bloggers on Instagram who grow beyond the grid (into their blog, list, and products) are the ones pulling in thousands — not just likes.
(Pssst… only 2–3% of your followers see your content. Get them off the app, my friend.)
And here’s where most bloggers on Instagram miss the plot…
They’re stuck pouring energy into a platform with built-in visibility limits — meanwhile, Pinterest is quietly serving their competitors with search-based traffic on autopilot.
File under: Facepalm-worthy realizations.
Unlike Instagram, Pinterest doesn’t ghost your content after 48 hours. One well-placed pin can drive traffic for months — even years.
If you’re not using it yet, you’re working way harder than you need to.
(Buckle up for the Bonus Tip at the end — this one might just change your entire strategy.)
How to find bloggers on Instagram?
The Explore page! Just type “blogger”. It’ll serve you a tailored buffet of bloggers on Instagram based on what you’re already into.
And here’s a sneaky-smart move: stalk who your fave bloggers are following. Yup. Go full detective. Chances are, they’re already hanging with other creators in your space. But be careful not to fall into the comparison trap (more about right after).
(Real talk: the blogging world isn’t that big once you zoom in.)
Popular bloggers on Instagram
Sure, you could scroll through the usual suspects — @chiaraferragni, @songofstyle, @emmahill. They’ve got millions of followers, editorial-level content, and brand deals on speed dial.
But let’s get real for a sec.
You’re not here for a fantasy scroll-fest.
You’re here to build something real — steady, strategic, and YOURS.
And comparing your behind-the-scenes to someone else’s fully-funded content machine? Yeah… that’s a fast track to self-doubt spiral city.
Truth bomb:
The most relevant bloggers on Instagram for you are the ones doing what you want to do, one smart step at a time.
The ones turning a small but loyal audience into consistent income.
The ones selling their offer or building their email list or growing their blog traffic — without the team, the glam, or the Vogue features.
That’s why this blog’s not just throwing you a “famous bloggers” list to gawk at. It’s giving you the real strategy — what works before you’re internet-famous.
(That’s the difference between a textbook tip and 30 years of online business strategy, my friend. IYKYK.)
Is Instagram good for blogging? What else should bloggers on Instagram do?
Short answer? Yes… but oof, not how most people think.
Instagram is great for building connection, vibe, community — the kind of visual storytelling that pulls your people in.
But if we’re talkin’ strategy — like actual growth, actual income, actual traffic to your blog? Instagram alone is the long, slow, algorithm-dependent route.
It’s like trying to carry all your groceries home with one hand. Possible? Yes. Efficient? Not really.
Bloggers on Instagram need a platform that does some heavy lifting — one that works while you sleep, doesn’t bury your posts in 24 hours, and sends people straight to your blog on purpose, not just on a whim.
That’s why you’ve gotta keep reading, my friend — because I’ve been hinting at the smarter move this whole time.
And in the bonus tip below?
I finally spill it.
(You’re gonna want this one in your back pocket. Trust.)
Your BONUS tip: Instagram Story Ideas to create reactions
Why the platform you’re ignoring is the one quietly working overtime for bloggers who scale
Let’s have a come-to-CEO moment over here, coffee in hand.
You’re pouring your whole soul into Instagram:
The content batching.
The scrolling “for research” (wheeze).
The engagement strategies that feel more like emotional labour.
And let’s be real — most days, it’s like screaming into the void with a Canva graphic.
And yet… you’re still wondering:
“Why isn’t this working?”
“Why does my traffic disappear the second I stop posting?”
“Why does everyone else seem to get discovered except me?”
You’re not broken. You’re just trying to build a legacy on borrowed land.
Instagram is a performance stage — fast, flashy, and fleeting.
Pinterest?
Pinterest is your quiet but consistent sales assistant — working behind the scenes 24/7, bringing people to your blog, even while you sleep.
It doesn’t need applause to deliver results. It just needs a pin with purpose.
It’s your blog’s best friend. The one that doesn’t ghost you. The one who actually brings people over for the long haul.
Truth bomb: Pinterest is not about recipes and DIY crafts circa 2013 anymore.
It’s a visual search engine.
For buyers.
For readers.
For your future clients.
For your affiliate links home.
(And yes, it still works like crazy now.)
Imagine Instagram is like setting up a pop-up stand on a busy street — eye-catching for a moment, gone the next.
Pinterest?
That’s your trusty digital signpost, quietly guiding the right people straight to your blog — not just today, but next week, next month, next season. No burnout. No shouting. Just consistent traffic that sticks.
And I get it — you’ve probably heard the “you should be on Pinterest” advice before and immediately shut down.
“But I’m not a food blogger.”
“But I don’t have time for another platform.”
“But I don’t know what to Pin.”
You’re not alone.
I’ve coached hundreds of bloggers on Instagram — service providers, content creators, educators, coaches — who felt the same overwhelm.
But here’s what they learned (and what changed their game):
You don’t need to pin 50 times a day.
You don’t need perfect branding.
You don’t need to be a Pinterest “expert.”
You need a Pinterest strategy designed for business owners with actual dreams.
And that’s what I teach.
✨ Pssst… I created a free masterclass just for bloggers and online entrepreneurs like you who are ready to scale sustainably — without spending their lives making Reels for likes instead of building a blog that pays.
It’s called Grow Your Leads On Autopilot With The Power Of Pinterest.
And it’s your next best move.
Inside, I’ll show you:
How to turn your blog into a lead machine with Pinterest (instead of relying on disappearing Instagram posts)
What makes Pinterest a money magnet when you use it the right way — even with a small following
And the exact 4-part system I use to drive warm traffic from Pinterest to my content, my list, and my offers on repeat
You’ve been showing up — now it’s time to start scaling up.
Your future self (the one who’s checking Stripe payouts from a cafe terrasse in Venice, watching the gondolas pass by or taking in the nature calm in a cabin in your favourite national park) is already nodding.
Let’s get you there — the smarter, chiller, I-still-have-a-life way.
